Amanda Nozaki
Mechanical Engineer & Art Ext. Student

aboutME
My professional career started as a show mechanical engineer with Walt Disney Imagineering, where I designed dynamic structures (Show action equipment and Audio-Animatronic figures) for various attractions. But, I also helped in brainstorms, pitched concepts, and even facilitated charrettes with a diverse team of talent to explore new possibilities in immersive storytelling.
Afterward, I worked for Legacy Effects, a practical effects company for film/tv projects, where I served as both a designer and shop technician for on-screen animated props (I.e. Wakanda Forever, D&D-Honor Among Thieves, Mandalorian Season 3, etc.). Then, I worked at Motiv working on robotics for NASA's Mars Sample Return Project. But my passion has always been themed entertainment because:
I truly believe entertainment & immersive storytelling has the power to inspire the next generation of engineers, artists, & designers.
So, I am back in themed entertainment, working as project engineer for Universal Studios Hollywood. On the side, I am continuing to develop my artistic portfolio through various classes so I can eventually apply it towards an experiential design masters. If you have an opportunity you think I would be a good fit for, feel free to reach out to me.
